78 Special Jazz Collection

Errol Garner, Mercury 1034

I'm kicking off 78 Special with a song from one of my favorite pianists, Errol (aka: Erroll) Garner.  His name has taken many forms over the years, but his music has always been purely Errol.  Forever lively and touching, Garner managed to pry every bit of romance out of tune and flawlessly deliver it to the ear. These two were recorded for Mercury in L.A. in 1946 with Errol and his trio; Red Callender (bass) and Nick Fatool (drums).  The first is "For You", and so are all the ones to follow.
